A Generous Contribution from One Community to Another
Our Kitchen Table is a volunteer driven charity focused on the betterment of the community.
We are very proud to announce that recently we received an incredible donation from the Caulfield Park Community Bendigo Bank in recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Our Kitchen Table community.
Chairman of Caulfield Park Community Bank Branch (Bendigo Bank), Kate Ashmore presented the cheque to Our Kitchen Table Founder and CEO Liz Davidson at Leah’s pod on Wednesday August 1, with committee members and many of our wonderful volunteers in attendance. As Kate explained on the day, the Caulfield Park Community Bendigo Bank prides itself on giving back to the community and does so annually to the tune of 80% of its profits. When Our Kitchen Table applied to Bendigo Bank for a community grant we were honoured when told that our application was successful. These much-needed funds will be put towards ongoing and future Our Kitchen Table projects and we are extremely grateful.
Our activities over the last three months have been varied and rewarding and our hard work has helped us:
Deliver 30 Mother’s Day hampers to the safe house tied closely with Our Kitchen Table
Make donations towards Impact for Women’s Mother’s Day hampers
Deliver a half shipping container full of clothing for the victims of Fiji’s flood
Donate knitted items to Father Bob Maguire’s community for people sleeping rough and those on low incomes
Donate much needed underwear and baby clothes to our safe house
Additionally, we are about to deliver our next drop of 30 welcome care packs to the women and children living in the safe house.
The total value of products donated since the beginning of May is approximately $20000 – of which we are very proud. We have managed to achieve this with the help of our committed volunteers, a lot of resources, a few donations and a whole lot of love and beautiful energy.
We would like to take this opportunity once again to thank the Caulfield Park Community Bendigo Bank for their generosity and to also thank every single person involved in the Our Kitchen Table community for their ongoing hard work, kindness, generosity and care.
