Our Kitchen Table worked very well with the young people

at our school. The students were engaged the entire two hours,

and were connected with the practical gifts they prepared

for the Women and children in shelters around Melbourne.

A great initiative.

I would like to thank Our Kitchen Table for donating the beautiful gift bags for us to distribute to the disadvantaged and homeless in Port Melbourne. The clients or as we like to call them “our friends” really appreciated them and as some of them said it felt like Christmas had come early! They could see how much care and effort had been put  into the packs and were so grateful for this. It really made their night.

Jewish Care’s collaboration with Our Kitchen Table has had a meaningful and empowering influence on our service users. Since starting the program I have watched Jewish Care clients embrace the activities organised by OKT. They are made to feel welcome, encouraged to participate and empowered by the inclusive nature of the activities undertaken. It is hard to describe the magnitude that this social interaction impacts on our clients, but support from the wider community is invaluable to our service users.

Thank you so much for your support and passion throughout the year, it made a big difference to the women.  The handbags received thumbs up, we gave them as part of Christmas presents it was overwhelming, “is this all mine, the bag looks great”.
